MTC has complete facilities, including survival and firefighting training bases. MTC provides training on survival and firefighting techniques for seafarers as commissioned by MTC, and also open its facilities to the general industry, to widely improve firefighting techniques and minimize property and life losses in case of fire accidents. Firefighting is a serious and important topic both at sea and on coast and must be attached with importance.
Survival and Fire Extinguishing Facilities
Survival training pool
The well-developed survival training pool has a length of 25 meters and a width of 18 meters. It consists of a 1.4 meter-deep shallow section, a 3 meter-deep section, and a 4 meter-high diving platform. The pool allows for a variety of survival training activities.
In addition, there are a variety of rescue equipment, including life buoys, life vests, inflatable life rafts, lifts, and immersion suits, in the equipment room next to the pool, ready for teaching and training at any time.
Firefighting facilities
Maritime firefighting drills focus on:
1.Sensitive to signals for firefighting or abandon ship; quickly arrive the firefighting station for assemble upon hearing the signal for firefighting; locate the fire from broadcasting
2.Pull out afire hose, and slightly open one fire hydrant (for reducing pressure in fighting pipeline).
3.Check firefighter gear and gas mask, and try them on.
4.Test and check whether or not the switches on watertight doors, fire-proof doors, and boiler throttle valves operate normally.
5.Connect a fire hose to a fire hydrant, simulate firefighting operations, and try spraying water column and water mist.
6.Check for water pipe breakage, and repair or apply for replacement.
